- 41 years as a newsman on a dozen newspapers (some that no longer grace the steets of their cities) Why a blog? well, looks like everybody else has one, so why not...a place to comment on this, that and whatever. keeps my hand in writing... and i've got some stuff from a website i authored for several years that i'll probably repost. but if you want to read a great blog site, try typing in BJ Alums (http://bjretirees.blogspot.com/) and see what a great job my colleague and good friend Harry Liggett does keeping up with the Beacon Journal family and newspapers in general. and for another great blog, try grumpy abe (http://grumpyabe.blogspot.com/)...this is authored by my good friend and colleague Abe Zaidan , a veteran politican reporter, who shoots from the hip. it's great reading, but of course i'm partial to a guy i've known for 50 plus years.
